During this period, the Chair also held community building activities in the village of Kiarasari, Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia. This activity focused on education for disaster mitigation. Communication related to disaster is crucial in a country such as Indonesia which is regularly hit by natural disasters. In addition to focusing on disaster issues, we also helped build communication networks between communities and the local governments.
In addition, for several days in the village, we also conducted workshops and teaching activities for community members. Actions included writing a workshop proposal, training participants on media and information literacy, organizing photography workshops, and organizing English language activities for elementary school students.
